Correia Instrumental Music Tri-M Chapter T8626
NAfME's 2023-24 National Junior Chapter of the Year!
This year marks the first anniversary of Tri-M Chapter 8626, where 26 founding members established the chapter’s governance by drafting bylaws and forming committees. Their activities included a productive Fall Retreat & Kick-Off Party, participation in the Disney Leadership Academy on teamwork, and an OB Toy Drive. The founders inducted 20 new members in January of 24', each of which now comprising Tri-M Chapter 8626 and its executive board members. They organized a community recital at Hervey Library, which raised $600, and a Night Out on Newport event that connected local businesses with school music programs. Additionally, they hosted a Petting Zoo, participated in the CMEA-SBS/Tri-M Solo & Ensemble Festival, and presented at the Shepherds Center Lunch Bunch. Members also assisted with Point Loma High School’s "Rhapsody" concert and Dana Concerts. The group was recognized and awarded the 2023-24 National Junior Chapter of the Year by the National Association of Music Education. This year will be comprised of significant leadership development and community engagement, leaving a strong foundation for future members.
