Correia Middle School Music
The Correia Middle School Instrumental Program offers students the opportunity to learn cooperation, responsibility and self-discipline through musical expression in a group activity. Students have fun meeting new friends and participating in exciting activities. In addition, the music programs at Correia challenge students in areas of personal growth as they achieve musical appreciation that will last a lifetime.
Disneyland - Advanced Band, Orchestra, Jazz
January 19, 2017
Jazz, Advanced Band, and Orchestra students will be attending a field trip to Disneyland on Friday, January 19, 2018. While at the park, students will be participating in a 90-minute interactive workshop that dives deep into the world of attraction scoring. Through interactive activities, our students will discover how music helps create the immersive experiences at Disney parks. After the workshop students will be released into Disneyland where they will be given time to experience and gain a better understanding of how the music of Disney can create emotion, atmospheric tone, and a vivid sense of time and place.
2018 SDUSD Honor Band & Orchestra
Congratulations to our students who auditioned and were accepted into the 2018 SDUSD Middle School Honor Band. These students will rehearse with the best of the best in San Diego Unified and will perform a concert at PLNU on February 3rd.
For band, congrats to: Samuel Capron - Tenor Sax, Claudio Flynn - Alto Sax, Maylin Garcia - Trumpet, Courtney Moroney - Clarinet, Quinn Storms - Flute, Adam Brown - Percussion and Ben Freeman - Trombone both took principal positions in their sections.
For orchestra, congrats to Fania Villareal - Violin, Claire Roberts - Cello, and Nico Morrison - Cello.
