The Point Loma Flute Choir (PLFC) is a premier group of flutists made up of students from the PL Cluster as well as other city schools.  The students volunteer their time after school with weekly rehearsals.  Performances included are Spooktacular, the Correia Winter and Spring Concerts.  Students will also have special performances for the Correia office, parents and at several fundraising events.  The group is organized and directed by Cheryl Putnam, Correia’s Flute Coach.  During the year we also will have several accomplished flutists holding Master Classes for our students.

What is a Flute Choir?  A flute choir is an instrumental chamber ensemble consisting of range extensions of the flute family. Our PLFC normally has pieces which includes piccolo and our concert flute.  We work each week educating our students to play as a choir and learn how each voice is important.

Small ensembles, such as our PLFC, open many doors for students to continue playing and performing and develop one’s musicianship and character in a way that no other group can. Fond memories and friends are made.  Our goal is to give every student the opportunity to grow.
